Description

Gleam a taste of Glenmorangie Distillery with a bottle of The Original 10 Year Old Scotch Whisky, a product with deep roots that began in 1843. This single malt scotch whisky is a classic creation with delicate flavours reminiscent of flowery citrus, malt, and creamy vanilla.

It is a perfect starting whisky for those who enjoy an elegant, classic drink. The Original Glenmorangie Scotch Whisky has been traditionally distilled and aged for ten years in first-fill bourbon casks made from quality American oak wood.

It contains 40% alcohol by volume (ABV).

Where it all began

Glenmorangie Distillery was the dream child of farmer William Matheson and his wife Anne, who decided to realise their passion for crafting delicious single malt whisky in Scotland. The first distillery was established in 1843, and since then, it has been producing its iconic golden nectar using the same methods for 175 years.

Glenmorangie Distillery also made its mark in the annals of history with the formation of the Sixteen Men of Tain. These sixteen individuals are said to have passed on the founder’s whiskey making legacy from generation to generation. They were the backbones of the distillery.

While the legend of the sixteen individuals remains to this day to satiate our need for a good story, ultimately, its well-guarded flavours from Glenmorangie Distillery is what truly commands the support of regular whisky fans.

How it is made

The Original Glenmorangie Scotch Whisky is a classic Scottish Highlands brew made primarily with pristine Tarlogie spring water, Scottish barley, and yeast.

First brewed and then fermented, the final concoction is distilled in tall copper stills like the ones used by its founder William Matheson. Each batch of Glenmorangie whisky is made without the use of automated technology.

By doing it this way, the distillery continues its traditional method that relies on the human touch in whisky making.

The distillery only uses Scottish Barley and Tarlogie spring water for their house whisky, a sign of appreciation for the region’s fertile lands and bountiful local ingredients. These ingredients give the whisky an incomparable smooth texture unique to The Original Glenmorangie 10 Year Old Whisky.

Combined with their expert craftsmanship, the Glenmorangie style of single malt whisky is preserved, keeping its refined flavours from years of research and experimentation.

Tasting notes

Shiny golden colour like nectar with mellow tones on the palate. The Glenmorangie offers a refined, delicate flavour that tastes of creamy vanilla and honey with soothing aromas of blooming citrus and ripened peaches.

The flavour profile is quite interesting as it also reflects soft notes of toffee and tiramisu with a touch of aromatic spices. On the finish, it has a lingering presence that feels clean and fresh, hinting of oranges and sweet fruits in spring.
