CLOUDY BAY Sauvignon Blanc
CLOUDY BAY Sauvignon Blanc. Cloudy Bay Vineyards is a winery in the Marlborough region of South Island, New Zealand. Cloudy Bay’s first commercial vintage was produced in 1985 from purchased grapes, and the company later planted its own vineyards. It was one of the first New Zealand wines to be widely exported and came to attention because of its fruit-forward style and very pronounced varietal character. This wine is rated at 90 Points by Wine Advocate.
The 2014 Sauvignon Blanc is a definitive expresion of the region and its season. Appealing concentration and poise suggestd a wine with the ability to age. The nose is bright with aromas of Kaffir lime and graprefruit. A generous palate reveals ripe citrus, stonefruits and lemongrass flavours balanced by crunchy acidity. Perhaps the hallmark of this vintage is its persistent finish rich with minerality.
